Imaging Core Equipment Image Long Description
Overview
The image is divided into three sections, each showcasing different imaging technologies used for analyzing biological tissues and organs. The technologies highlighted are VEVO 3100, Micro-CT, and LionHeart. Each section includes labeled images of organs, equipment photographs, and descriptive text.
Values
- VEVO 3100: Displays ultrasound imaging of the heart. Two grayscale images are shown: one labeled "Normal Heart" and another labeled "Infarcted Heart." The infarcted heart image has a red box highlighting a specific region of interest. A VEVO 3100 ultrasound machine is pictured in the center of this section.
- Micro-CT: Shows high-resolution 3D scans of organs using micro-computed tomography. Three black-and-white images represent detailed vascular structures of a Kidney, Brain, and Heart, each labeled in red text. Above these images is a photograph of the Micro-CT scanner (Bruker SkyScan system) in beige and black colors, connected to a computer workstation.
- LionHeart: Focuses on histological and cellular imaging. Two pink-stained cross-sectional images of hearts are shown: one labeled "Normal Heart" and another labeled "Infarcted Heart," with the infarcted heart image featuring a red box marking a region of interest. Below these are a desktop computer displaying a green and red cellular image and a white imaging scanner.
Presentation
The graphic uses a triangular layout with black dividing lines separating the three sections. Each technology name is prominently displayed in bold text at the top of its section:
- VEVO 3100 (top left)
- Micro-CT (top right)
- LionHeart (bottom center)
Images are arranged to visually represent the capabilities of each system:
- VEVO emphasizes ultrasound imaging for cardiac health.
- Micro-CT highlights intricate organ structures in 3D.
- LionHeart demonstrates histology and cellular imaging with digital analysis tools.
The overall design combines equipment photos with sample imaging outputs to illustrate the advanced imaging resources available for research.
